Friendly personnel, nice bed. It's not too far away from Astor Place subway station, loved that, easily traveled around the city. Great views out over skyline from the room. It was worth its 4 stars.
Beautiful location. Friendly staff.
The location was great. Could have been first class but the people fell way short of this expectation.
Three times requested change of sheets, never happened. Really did not do much to clean the room. Just remade bed and took the tip. Needless to say there was no tip on the last day. Waitress at lunch had an attitude coupled with bad service. Usually we like to try the hotel for diner, but this did not seem a good idea after lunch.
A fine, modern and clean hotel. Not a large room, but ok (stayed in cooper 4). OK ward-robe and a save to the mac. Large minibar. Nice, light and large bathroom with a good shower (instead of a useless bathtub :o) Good surroundings with plenty of good restaurant in the area. We enjoyed the stay. A little bill-overcharging will be solved by the friendly staff.
There is very little electric light in the elevator or outside the room-door.
The view on Manhatten from de 15'floor (our room)
I loved the lobby and welcoming portion of the hotel I also enjoyed the view of east village from my hotel room on the 10th floor.
I was handed a nice glass of wine upon arrival, then my room was upgraded. The staff was very nice, helpful and accommodating. My room was on a high floor and exceptionally quiet for a NYC hotel.
For NYC room was large enough and well decorated and maintained. Very nice and accomodating staff. Love the location. Would stay there again. Would like to know about discounts and specials as I have family in the earea and will use the hotel w some frequency.
Coffee and wine bar in the lobby for no addti'l fee
Coffee and cream were often empty. Staff not always recognizable.
Friendly staff, well designed and although the rooms are not huge we had an amazing view from the 18th Floor and a fabulously comfortable bed. It was our anniversary so they upgraded the room and then sent us a bottle of fizz. Great position if you want all the buzz of Nolita, Soho and the Village on your doorstep.
I stayed during hurricane Irene. The hotel was shorthanded but still managed excellent service and attitude. Many of the staff stayed overnight because they couldn't get home, but were unfailingly pleasant and upbeat. I will certainly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
The lighting was dim in the elevators, hallways and rooms.
The facilities are excellent for entertaining. The restaurant is great, the bar is cool and the vibe is hipster. Nice Location.
Not a lot of room for the price. I stayed in the top tier room and although the views were awesome, the room was tiny. So tiny that that dont have king beds.
The obsessive commitment to the 'cool' was amusing if not entirely completely carried off. PS: I was in the hotel for 5 nights -- not 3.
The fancy Italian over-design had me crawling around the floor (@ 69 years of age) to plug in my computer and cell phone. Restaurant not quite as au fait as it thought it was. Had to ask for an ice bucket, the wrong second fork bought for a dozen oysters and that needed to be asked for too. Curious system whereby the doormen had a deal with a town-car firm which was cheaper than the front desk's.
The room was very clean and comfortable The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. Great location for the things I wanted to see.
The lighting in the the halls and elevator is much to DARK! It was very hard to see the elevator floor buttons especially after being outside. The walls are black and the dim lighting just doesn't work, you need to be able to see where you are going! Just turn up the lighting in the halls and elevator and it will be a perfect place.
its location and the boutique hotel atmosphere
